Your data stays on your device

Tidy House is built on a local-first architecture. Your home maintenance records, warranty details, project notes, and documents are stored directly on your device — not on our servers. We use conflict-free replicated data types (CRDTs) to handle sync, which means your data can synchronize across your own devices without ever passing through a central database we control.

This isn’t just a technical choice. It’s a privacy choice. We can’t see your data because we don’t have it.

What we collect

We keep data collection to the bare minimum needed to deliver the app:

• App Store analytics — Apple and Google provide us with anonymized, aggregate download and usage statistics through their standard developer dashboards. We have no control over what they collect on their platforms — see their respective privacy policies.

What we don’t collect

• No third-party analytics or tracking scripts
• No advertising identifiers
• No location data
• No access to your contacts, camera, or microphone
• No behavioral profiling
• No selling or sharing of data with third parties

How sync works

When you enable multi-device sync, your data is encrypted and synchronized directly between your devices using CRDTs. The sync relay server handles encrypted message passing only — it cannot read your data. You can use Tidy House entirely offline with no sync at all.

Data you control

You own your data completely. At any time you can:

• Export all your data from within the app
• Delete your account and any associated authentication data
• Use offline only with no account and no sync — the app works fully offline

Children’s privacy

Tidy House is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll notify you through an app update or in-app notice. The current version is always available at this page.
